About

I'm a software engineer with more than seven years of experience in IT. I work along the full lifecycle of software systems: from field-side data collection (firmware, edge, custom electronics) all the way to cloud-side processing (distributed backends, data pipelines, applied AI, observability).

I've been with Visup since 2018, and CTO there since November 2023. I'm responsible for technical architecture, infrastructure, security and the technology strategy that cuts across the company's products, including Things5 (enterprise IoT platform) and Plant9 (a reference platform for Industry 4.0).

What sets me apart

I own the full stack, from PCB to cloud, in an era where most people specialise on a single layer. I'm a system-level thinker who makes consistent choices across electronics, firmware, backend and data. And I've been making them, in production, for years. The Friland project is the proof: six years of continuous operation with custom electronics I designed myself, in hostile environments, with no revisions to the original hardware.

Freelance work

Alongside my main role, I selectively take on B2B freelance projects that fit my multi-disciplinary skill set. I'm based in Gemona del Friuli (province of Udine), Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and take on clients across Italy and Europe โ€” remote when it makes sense, with occasional travel. Availability is intentionally limited and selective: I'd rather deliver one project well than three in a hurry.

Education

Degree in Engineering and Computer Science, University of Bologna, 2023. High-school diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.

In three lines

I live in Friuli, in north-east Italy. I often work with mountain communities and with projects that live in beautiful, difficult places. I like to build things with my own hands before delegating them.
